opportunity
How do you tell your story to the world? Woocheen is Sealaska’s ocean-health business platform. They wanted to connect with unique global business leaders driven by social and environmental values (a rare and important breed).
solution
With ocean health as their north star, we set out to immerse viewers in the ocean: to feel her power, her beauty, and her impact on our lives… environmentally and economically, of course, but also socially and spiritually. We wanted changemakers to understand at first glimpse the quality, care, and purpose of Woocheen as an organization.
We created three pieces: a poetic underwater anthem shot by free divers and two micro-documentaries connecting viewers to Native Alaskans and Native Icelanders who rely on the ocean to survive. The results are a suite of storytelling tools that give folks a glimpse into the nuanced world of sustainable seafood and hydro sciences (clean water, renewable energy, etc.), and spark their curiosity to learn more. The payout from these investments goes to support the 23,000 native Alaskan stakeholders of Sealaska, reinvesting in education, language revitalization, and the future leaders of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian tribes.
testimonial
Aaron and the team at Soulcraft have a remarkable ability to identify the essence of story, imagine a novel, compelling way to tell it, and then go turn their vision into reality. Our recent film project together was poetry - literally and figuratively. I can't think of anyone I would trust more to work through the inevitable challenges and touch hearts with authenticity, thoughtfulness and unparalleled beauty.
